About the artist…
David Reese Kean
Raised in New Zealand, David spent his early days in the Canterbury High country as a shepherd before follwowing his love of the ocean and heading overseas to sail. Whether cruising the trade winds, island hopping the tropics or racing aboard everything from America's Cup contenders to dinghies he developed a love for the fabric of nature.
The colors and patterns he draws out of the raw materials are an expression of a vision. Each piece being handcrafted means that no two are the same and you will be intrigued by the variety found within one piece just like in nature itself.
David has now turned his attention to creating art work that reflects his life and experiences. Fascinated by the seasonal changes and the colors that it brings you will find his work influenced by the world he has seen from the decks of the yachts he has sailed.
